Size & Fit Guide

— Choosing the Right Size for SANAX Slippers —

If You’re Unsure About Your Size

SANAX slippers follow a different sizing philosophy from regular shoes. For this reason, many first-time customers — especially those ordering from overseas — tell us they are unsure which size to choose.

On this page, we explain clearly why sizing can feel confusing and what you should use as your main reference, so that you can choose with confidence.

Slippers Are Different from Shoes

Most sneakers and leather shoes are designed for outdoor walking. They are made with a certain amount of extra space to allow movement and expansion.

Slippers, on the other hand, are designed for stable indoor walking.

If the size is too large, you may experience:

  • Your foot sliding forward and backward
  • Your heel lifting while walking
  • Unnecessary tension in your toes or sole, leading to fatigue

SANAX slippers are designed to be worn with a secure, snug fit.

Feeling “Slightly Snug” Is Normal

When you first try them on, you may feel: “They fit more closely than I expected,” or “They feel a little snug.” This is completely normal.

Leather and lining materials gradually soften and adapt to your foot over time. As you wear them, the fit becomes more natural and personalized.

If you choose a larger size from the beginning, this natural adaptation cannot occur properly, and your foot may continue to slide inside the slipper.

SANAX Size Chart

This chart is based on Foot Length (Heel–Toe) — the distance from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe. US and EU sizes are provided as reference only. Whenever possible, we recommend using Heel–Toe (cm) as your primary guide.

SANAX SIZE US M US W EU HEEL–TOE (CM)
XXS 4 – 4.5 5 – 5.5 36 22.0 – 22.5
XS 5 – 5.5 6 – 6.5 37 – 38 23.0 – 23.5
S 6 – 6.5 7 – 7.5 38 – 39 24.0 – 24.5
M 7 – 7.5 8 – 8.5 40 – 41 25.0 – 25.5
L 8 – 8.5 9 – 9.5 41 – 42 26.0 – 26.5
LL 9 – 9.5 10 – 10.5 42 – 43 27.0 – 27.5
3L 10 – 10.5 11 – 11.5 44 – 45 28.0 – 28.5
4L 11 – 11.5 12 – 12.5 45 – 46 29.0 – 29.5
5L 12 – 12.5 13 – 13.5 46 – 47 30.0 – 30.5
6L 13 – 13.5 14 – 14.5 47.5 – 48 31.0

Note: Conversions (US/EU) are approximate and may vary by brand. Please prioritize Heel–Toe (cm).

About Instep Height and Foot Width

In addition to foot length, actual fit is also influenced by instep height and foot width. These vary greatly from person to person and cannot be fully determined by the size chart alone.

If you feel that your feet are wider than average or your instep is higher than average, you may choose the same size as your usual sneakers.

Basic Guidelines for Choosing Your Size

  • Use foot length (cm) as your primary reference
  • SANAX slippers are designed for a snug fit
  • Your heel should sit naturally and securely
  • If you have wider feet, your sneaker size can be a helpful reference

If You Are Still Unsure

If you are uncertain about your size, please let us know your foot length (cm) and whether you prefer a snug fit or a slightly roomier feel.

We will be happy to assist you personally.
